Mike and Jennette’s favorite vacation destination
The Florida Keys is where we head for a week or two in December. Mike’s family has been vacationing here for nearly 40 years. We stay on a small island called “Fiesta Key.” It’s about half way between Miami and Key West. It’s nothing fancy (we stay in a bungalow style efficiency with a kitchenette), but it has a great family-friendly atmosphere and facilities. You can rent a room, bring your RV, or even pitch a tent. We have many friends that rendezvous on the island each December.
The Kemeter’s are somewhat famous on the island for their deep sea fishing skills. They have a limited commercial license, so we take the fish to the market in Key Largo every few days. I am the designated dinner chef, so I am often preparing the days catch of yellow tail snapper and grouper. Here are some pictures from December 2008 that you may enjoy. ~Jennette
